Three Things to do in Port Macquarie in One Day

When you are only having a short visit here are three things to do in Port Macquarie in one day.

VISIT BILLABONG ZOO AND KOALA BREEDING

Billabong Zoo Port Macquarie

Billabong Zoo has won many awards and is a great place to get to see native and exotic animals up-close. There are opportunities to pat, stroke, feed, hold, hear and see over 80 species of mammals, reptiles and birds. The zoo cares for over 200 animals in a 10 acre Koala and Wildlife Park. Included in the zoo are talks and shows and opportunities to pat a koala. Billabong Zoo is passionate for conservation as Ambassadors for Wildlife and its koala breeding program is world-renowned. Enjoy the playground and picnic areas set in beautiful lush gardens with tranquil koi ponds. Hot food, snacks, ice-cream, coffee and drinks and souvenirs are available on site. Open every day, 9am-5pm. Rain or shine.

HAVE LUNCH AT THE STUNNED MULLET

This stunning restaurant is the perfect place to dine after your zoo visit. The decor, service and food is fantastic. The Stunned Mullet is opposite Town Beach and although this is not a restaurant review you can see the calibre of the meals from these photos.

Established in 2005, the restaurant holds a coveted National Good Food Guide Chef’s Hat, Trip Advisor’s Traveller’s Choice Award for the best restaurants within Australia, consecutively from 2013- 2017 and featured regularly in Gourmet Traveller’s Wine list of the Year.

WALK OFF LUNCH ALONG THE COASTAL WALK

The Port Macquarie Coastal Walk can be enjoyed as one whole day or broken up into short walks. Along this walk you will see historic sites, stunning coastal scenery, beaches, and rainforest.
