Nestled in the charming village of Allworth, NSW, The Farmer's Wife Distillery is a beacon for gin enthusiasts. Their signature gin features native sage, myrtles, pepperberry, and the exquisite sugar bag honey, creating a complex yet smooth flavour profile.
My family visited last weekend for a birthday celebration and found it exceptional. Walking through the doors, you are greeted with a magnificent open fire surrounded by comfortable sofas and armchairs. On the right, the serving area is decorated with stunning green tiles.
The area is spacious and has high ceilings. If you bring your pet, you can also eat outside.
There are also many beautiful gin-related items, from candles, gin flavours, soaps, and much more.
Our Lunch at Farmers Wife Distillery
We ordered a variety of gin cocktails and one Mocktail during our evening out. Among the drinks, I opted for the Mocktail, and to my surprise, it turned out to be one of the most flavoruful and well-crafted non-alcoholic beverages I have ever tasted. The bartender's skill in creating this Mocktail was truly impressive, as it managed to capture the essence and complexity typically found in alcoholic cocktails. Each sip was a delightful experience, with a perfect balance of flavours and a refreshing twist that left a lasting impression. Despite not containing any alcohol, this Mocktail stood out for its sophistication and attention to detail, making it a memorable choice that rivalled even the most intricate gin cocktails on the menu.
We shared a grazing board and it was ample for the four of us. As well we had the Margherita pizza with garden tomatoes, fresh basil & buffalo mozzarella. The housebaked cornbread came with a creamy topping. Haloumi drizzled in honey and a fig salad.
